Breast cancer is perhaps the most dreaded disease of every woman. Breast reconstruction offers an opportunity to make whole what is taken in mastectomy. Its contribution in self-image after mastectomy is immeasurable. There are many different techniques in breast reconstruction. Consult with the doctor to see what is best for you.

 Breast Reconstruction Example*

Age: 43
Note: This is a TRAM (Transverse Rectus Andominus Myocutaneous flap) reconstruction of the right breast after mastectomy. She had right mastectomy a few years previously and was interested in reconstruction using her own tissue. We chose the TRAM flap using her own abdominal skin and fat to reconstruct her right breast. The scar line will fade with more passage of time. She has very good symmetry and the reconstructed breast feels normal.
